If you are going in for horror in a big way for your Halloween decor, ready for that big Halloween party, then a few strategically placed body parts can make quite an impact.

Planning well for a Halloween party can make a big difference to how the party turns out. The decor, of course, is important, but creating an atmosphere overlays that, and your aim then is to blend the decor with the atmosphere you wish to create. Atmosphere creation has to embrace lighting, and if possible music.

Perhaps the most likely sort of atmosphere people would want to create would be one that is fun but scary. The balance will depend on the age of your guests, and your understanding of what they would appreciate best. A guest with a heart pacemaker may not appreciate too much that is realistically scary.

For the scary part, some horror music playing in the background can be effective in mood setting, with subdued or scarcely existent lighting. If you can figure out how to time scary "happenings" with particular points in the music, then that will add to the effect. Watch a few horror movies and you will get the idea, but it is not as easy as it looks.

The use of scene setter and other Halloween decorations can be invaluable in creating that scary/fun atmosphere you are looking for. The scary touch can be enhanced by the use of well placed body parts. I am talking, of course, of articificial body parts, and not raiding the local morgue and graveyard for your Halloween props.

Halloween props are readily available online, if not in your local store. The three pictures above are all examples of body parts you can find online, and you are sure to be able to find many more.

What they are is blatantly obvious. The severed feet come in a matching pair. These bloody feet are realistic and ten inches long, and where you leave them to cause most fright is up to you. The severed shrunken head comes with a realistic eye and hair, and can even be made to shake in an eerie way with a motion device.

The final body part picture is a severed hand, cut just below the elbow and oozing blood, another gory Halloween prop for a screaming success of a Halloween party.
