Black cats have, for a very long time, had superstitious connotations and associations with witches, much in the same way as bats. Is a black cat crossing your path good luck? Bad Luck? Or no luck at all? Is that black cat watching you from the window a witch, or is it just a cat passing the time of day in its usual laid back way?

When it comes to Halloween, though, black cats are scary cats, and feature in Halloween masks and costumes, as well as Halloween props. Here, though, we are looking at black cat props, and you should find a good choice of those around in the stores, local and online.

What, though, can you do with black cat Halloween props? That depends on the type of Halloween decoration mood you want to set, whether it is for a big Halloween party or just a bit of decoration at home or in the garden, and your budget. You can find black cats used in scene setters, window stickers, hanging decorations, and also cat prop models like those pictured above.

The cats pictured are all black and all fit for Halloween mayhem. Invite your mailman to come back after dark...if he dares. The first cat pictured (top left) is designed just to fit nicely on a mail box, to greet the mailman, and anyone else who comes by, and scare the pants of them with its scary cat, evil eye looks. Nothing like the charming, pretty, petite black cat I used to have in England many years ago.

The middle picture above is of a foam filled ferocious feline fearmonger made from latex. Prowling your garden cemetery through the drifting mist, this black cat is a real shocker, and looks like it has been through a recent fight or two, with realistic wounds and missing eye.

The final picture is a bit less of a scary cat, but who said all witches cats need be scary? Looking a bit closer, though, those teeth do look a bit threatening, so maybe this latex mini monster could scare grandma after all.
